Paul "Mike" Hauser Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather passed away at home the morning of June 4, 2012 after a 8 1/2 year courageous battle with Carcinoid Cancer. Mike was born in Terre Haute, IN to Paul B. Hauser and Norma Hauser. Mike grew up on the West Side of Indianapolis and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1968. He married Mary E. Hauser (Harrington) in August of 1969 to which two children were born, Michelle and Brian Hauser. He worked 9 1/2 years for R.L. Schutte Bridge Construction and spent 32 years working for Allison Transmission in Speedway, IN. He retired from Allison Transmission in 2009. Mike had a love of racing and cars. He also enjoyed golfing and taking travel adventures with his wife Mary. Mike's love for his family and commitments went unwaivered by his faith and will to live. He was a loving caring husband, father, grandfather, brother in law, Uncle and friend. He was loved by all that knew him and will be dearly missed. Mike is preceded in death by father Paul B. Hauser and mother Norma Hauser. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Mary Hauser, daughter Michelle Hauser, son Brian Hauser and grand daughter Mikaela Hauser. Memorial Services will be held at Conkle Funeral Home Avon Chapel Saturday June 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation with family starting at 12:00 p.m. A special thanks to IU Simon Cancer Center Doctors and Nurses for the years of care and research to keep Mike with us for the 8 1/2 years.

I was sorry to read this obit. Mike and I grew up as close boyhood friends. But as time goes by you lose contact. I often think back on growing up in Indy and Mike was always part of it.
