Paul James Hudson, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, in Gonzales, accompanied by his loving family. His wife, Earlene Kay Hudson of 63 years, stood by his side until the very end.
Paul was born on July 19, 1940, in Connersville, Indiana to his parents Ottilliea Hurz Muhler and Arther William Hudson. He was raised on a farm and began to work at an early age; he appreciated a hard day's work and carried that work ethic with him throughout his life.
He met Earlene Kay Gallivan at Casino Beach in Lake Worth, Tx, they married in 1963 and raised their 3 daughters, Melissa, Barbara and Paula. He had various jobs throughout his career, to name the most recent, he worked for Wal-Mart for three years in Burleson, Texas, he also worked as a ranch hand for three years in Shiner, Texas, and dedicated his time to the Gonzales Dog Shelter for a few years as a volunteer. He loved to go fishing, and his family enjoyed all of the memories they made with him on their fishing trips. Paul enjoyed a good trip to the flea market and always pulled over for a garage sale. He was raised catholic but later on devoted his life as a Pentecostal. He enjoyed going to church and dedicated his life to the Lord.
Paul is survived by his loving wife Earlene Kay, his three beautiful daughters Melissa Kay Hanson (Michael Scott Hanson), Barbara "Barbie" Cook (Howard Cook), and Paula Hudson. His six grandchildren Justin Hanson, Krystal Wehmeyer, Brittanie Banta, Tiffanie Moore, Kimberly Cook, and Will Cox, along with his 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time, a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
