Paul Jansen Obituary
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his special friend, Agnes Hermeling (nee Winkler); brother, Andrew Jansen; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria Jansen, JoAnn Jansen, and Ron Bottens; and family friends, Gerri (Jim) Haar, Mark Schrage, and Joseph Eilers.
Paul is survived by his siblings, Alfred Jansen of Highland, Elmer (friend, Carol White) Jansen of St. Rose, Marcellus (Phyllis) Jansen of Topeka, KS, Joanne Bottens of Breese, and Lawrence "Pete" (Rose) Jansen of St. Rose; sister-in-law Pat Jansen of Breese; and family friends, Mary Jane Schrage of St. Rose and Barb Eilers of Germantown whose children proudly called Paul "grandfather"; and nieces and nephews.
Paul was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. In recognition of his service, he received the Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Following his military service, Paul was employed by McDonnell Douglas, where he worked as a sheet metal assembler and riveter and also contributed to final assembly. He retired in 1978 after many years of dedicated service.
He was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, a member of Breese American Legion Post 252, and International Aerospace Machinist Local 837 in St. Louis.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown with Fr. Thomas Lugge presiding. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 9:00 – 10:45 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, plants, and other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Boniface Cemetery and will be received at the visitation or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 535 N. 5th St., Breese, IL 62230, who is serving the family.
