Paul Douglas Kelling (Douglas or Doug for short) was born in Houston, TX on April 25, 1950, and died September 17, 2023, in Georgetown, TX. He was the son of Henry and Ruth Kelling and was baptized by Pastor Paul Ludwig at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on May 21, 1950. In December 1954 he moved with his family to Pasadena. He attended public schools through sixth grade then transferred to Zion Lutheran School for seventh and eighth grades. He was confirmed at Zion on May 17, 1964, by Rev. Walter F. Bielefeldt. He attended Houston Lutheran High School for ninth grade and then was in a terrible auto accident which kept him out of school for a year. He returned to Lutheran High and graduated with honors in 1969. He attended Concordia Lutheran College for a year and then San Jacinto Junior College for a year. In 1974 he moved with his parents to Lake Travis and became members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Park. He was employed at Tracor Industries in Austin as a warehouse foreman until 1991 when he retired on disability. He was an avid golfer and loved reading, music and going to movies. He was especially known for his quick wit and humor,
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Robert M.Riske. He is survived by his Sister Dolores J. Riske of Georgetown; and Brother, David H. Kelling and wife Lorene of La Porte. Also, Nieces Deborah Riske Standifer and husband Bobby of Taylor; Sharon Riske Christensen and husband Matt of West Haven, Utah; and Rebecca Riske Mazoch and husband Zach of College Station; Grand-Nephews Cole Standifer, Bode Christensen and Landon Mazoch; and Grand-Nieces Lauren Standifer Volek and husband Tyler, Emma Christensen and Ella Mazoch.
