MARQUETTE, MI - Paul Donald Larson, age 86, of Marquette, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at his home, in the loving care of his family.
Born November 28, 1938, in Negaunee, a son of Edward William and Hilia (Keranen) Larson, Paul was raised in Negaunee and graduated from the Negaunee High School in 1956.
For over 20 years, Paul was employed with the Upper Peninsula Power Company (UPPCO) prior to his retirement.
Later in life, Paul was united in marriage to his lifetime best friend, Fay Costantino/Gordley. Together, the couple made a happy home where they raised three daughters. One of highlights of their life together was when Paul and Fay made a trip to Alaska. Throughout the years, many beautiful memories were made with family and friends.
Paul was an avid fisherman, making daily voyages out on Lake Superior with his buddies and family for a fresh catch. These fishing excursions often culminated with him hosting family and friends at one of his fantastically delicious fish fries. In his leisure, Paul also enjoyed spending time at the family camp, always being surrounded by family and friends. When his health began to fail, his family made sure he remained at home where his close-knit neighborhood on West Ridge Street offered love and support. You couldn't help but like the guy! Paul was also a lifelong member of the Negaunee Rod and Gun Club and a member of the Negaunee Elks Lodge.
Paul is survived by his loving daughters, Cindy (Greg Fassbender) Costantino, Vicky (Murray) Sheppard, and Patty (Jim) D'Annibale; his grandchildren, Ricky (Bre) Pogue Costantino/Berry, Nicholas (Cassie) Costantino/Berry, Elijah (Jenna) McCoy, Felicia (Cody) Thomas, Kristy Frazier/Parmenter, Selina (Steve) Owen, Shanece (Josh) D'Annibale, James (Marissa) D'Annibale, and Sean D'Annibale; many great and great great-grandchildren; and his brother, Bill Larson.
Also surviving are special nieces and nephews, Bill Larson, Jim (Sue) Larson, Donald (Shana) Larson, John Larson, Suzanne Debski, Kevin Bell, and Kay and Pete Heikkala. Special friends and family: Pat Lakenen, Ron and Ann, Mary Lou Savitski, Bob and Noni, the Lakenen and Savitski Crew and numerous cousins, Shirley Michelson, Tim and Kathy, Mark Arnette, Buck and Jackie, Chris and Willard.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Fay, in 2006; a sister-in-law, Judy Larson; nieces, Lori-Ann Bell and Cheryl Larson; and a nephew, Brian Debski.
A gathering of family and friends, honoring Paul's life, will be held in the spring and will be announced.
