With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Paul Gail Long, age 78, who passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at his home, in his beloved hometown of Springfield, Missouri. Born on October 24, 1946, to Cyrus P. and Roberta W. (Chandler) Long, in Baptist Hospital. He had spent much of his life in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Paul lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and a deep love for his family and friends.

Paul was a 1965 graduate of Palmer High School, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and he took classes at Pikes Peak Community College. He was a proud Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam war, serving 4 years, from 1965-1969, where he earned four Marine Corp Service Medals. While in the USMC, he served as an Airplane Mechanic, Paul was a former owner-operator of the Cy's Drive Inn Restaurant. Later, he was also in sales and merchandising for a Wholesale Grocery Company. His talents and hard work earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike, making a lasting impact in his field. He was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church, in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as Church Treasurer and started Prayer Teams. He also celebrated 50 years involvement and sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Above all, Paul cherished his role as a husband to his beloved wife, Georgia (Kurlandski) Long. They were united in marriage on October 24, 1975, at Grace Temple, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Their shared life was filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories, a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other and their community. Paul was also a Kansas City Chiefs fan, he loved military history, dogs, and automobile racing.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; and by his daughter, Shannon (Long) Moeller. Paul is survived by his wife, Georgia Long, his son, Ed Long and his wife, Joy Long; two grandsons, Josh Long and his wife, Leah, and Jeremy Long and his wife, Victoria; grand-daughter, Rachel Long, and their mother Edie Long, great-grandchildren: Bella Long, JoJo Long, Penelope Long, Ashlyn Mason, Kiley Mason, and Dylan Mason; grandson, Roy Jameson and his wife, Heidy; grand-daughters, Jeri Jameson and Ronda Jameson; great-grandkids, Sophia Jameson, Mia Jameson, Emily Jameson, and Dustin Jameson; his son-in-law, Tom Moeller; grand-daughters, Khrista Hilton and fiancé Brett Yulich, Amanda and her husband, Dustin Webb; great-grandkids, Avya Moeller, Ashlyn Webb, grandson, Michael Moeller; and a great-grandson, Aidan Moeller. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Long) West and families.

In honoring Paul's life and legacy, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, and again 10:00 a.m. to Noon, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the funeral home prior to leaving for All Saints Anglican Church. Family and friends are encouraged to come together to share stories and celebrate the man who touched so many lives.

The funeral service, a time for remembrance and reflection, will be held on August 21, 2025, at 1:30 PM at All Saints Anglican Church, 2751 East Galloway Street, following the service, Military honors will be rendered in the parking lot; followed by a reception in McGlynn Hall. We invite all who knew Paul to join us honoring his remarkable life and to provide solace to one another during this difficult time.

Paul Gail Long will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, spirit, and sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those he touched throughout his life.
