Paul David Peeples, 65 years old of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at home with his sister-in-law, Dawn Weaver who had taken great care of him in the weeks prior to his death to ease the burden of care for Debbie and Tommie.
Born July 20,1959 in Ridgeland, South Carolina to Tommie and Sadie Ruth (Mole) Peeples. Paul graduated high school from Thomas Heyward Academy in 1977 and then moved to Hilton Head Island to work with his brother Thomas at Peeples Construction Company. In 1983, Paul decided to start his own company but continued to work with Thomas at times over the years. In 1979, Paul began dating Deborah Louise Bumgardner and in 1991 they married on Hilton Head Island at the home of Tom and Mary Ann Peeples. In 1992, they welcomed a son, Thomas Preston Peeples. The three of them had a great life, Paul and Debbie being involved in Tommie's school activities and sports, one of which was being Team Parents for his football team for several years.
In 2018, a pharmacy gave Paul the wrong medication causing a stroke and loss of vision. Paul could no longer work or drive; two things he loved to do. Over the next almost seven years, Paul's health declined continually as he became less involved in activities of daily living; he felt sad and depressed over his loss of independence and freedom; having to depend on other for lots of things, especially going anywhere. He loved his family and friends but at the end of his life, he was tired and ready to go to see his mother, father, brothers as well as other family members and friends who are waiting for Paul.
Paul is survived by Debbie Peeples, wife of 33 years, son Tommie Peeples, brother Bobby Peeples (Gwen), their children Bryan, Ricky, Andrea and their families, sister Melanie Peeples Tindal and her children Jeremy, Lauren and their families, sister-in-law Mary Ann Peeples and her son Josh. In addition to Paul's family, he is survived by his sister-in-law Dawn Weaver (Mark) and her children Mikie, Anna (Timmy), Jonathan and Joseph Goss. Paul is also survived by a host of great nieces and nephews as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews on the Mole side of the family.
A Celebration of Life will be from 4pm-6pm, Sunday, November 17, 2024, at the Mary Ann Peeples Pavillion at Honey Horn Plantation, 70 Honey Horn Drive, Hilton Head Island.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to ALS Association (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease). Paul's good friend, Jimbo Lowther, passed away from this disease in 2002, this was close to his heart and Paul made this as his birthday fundraiser for years.
The family would like to thank Main Street Medical, Centerwell Home Health, Your Health who was an in-home Nurse Practitioner, and Crescent Hospice for the wonderful care Paul received in the last four months.
