Paul John Pieri left this earth on April 24, 2025, to join his two daughters, Michelle and Yvette, in Paradise with Our Lord and Blessed Mother Mary.
Paul was born to Jackie and Horace on January 30, 1937, in Phoenix, Az. Survivors are his wife of 68 years, Annemarie, and his seven living children: Rene' Gober (Rich), Dean (Patsy), Darren (Mark), Drew (Ana), Derek (Josephine), Damon (Jenny) and John Devon. He was also the proud grandfather (Poppa) to 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Paul attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary's High School (1954). He loved school and always hated when summer vacation came around. Many of his long-time friendships were made during those years.
He received his AA Degree from Phoenix College and went on to ASU for a time.
Prior to joining Motorola at its inception, he served eight years with the AZ Air National Guard and was deployed to Germany for 10 months. His rank was Staff Sergeant. He was also employed by Sperry Electronics.
During his 33 years with Motorola, he began in the warehouse and worked his way up the corporate ladder to Vice President of Distribution. Many of his co-workers became close friends throughout his life.
Paul loved all sports, especially Notre Dame, the New York Yankees,, the AZ Cardinals and the AZ Diamondbacks. He attended St. Mary's football games until just recently.
Spending summers in Pinetop, camping with his kids, fishing, coaching, growing flowers, collecting golf balls and talking politics were all important events in his life. Paul would stop to chat with strangers he would meet at the bank, in the grocery store, at a restaurant, pumping gas, and in church. People would know all about our family. His family was his biggest joy!
A special thank you to Anne Marie, Sherrie, and Mary of Divine Hospice for their loving care and devotion to Paul during the past few months.
There will be Visitation from 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 8620 North 7th Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020.
There will be no reception, as Paul requested.
