Frank E. Smith Funeral Home and Crematory - LancasterPaul Arthur Reinbold, 38, a resident of Lancaster, Ohio, took his life on August 17, 2025.
Paul was born in Eugene, Oregon, on February 3, 1987. He was adopted by Pete and Diane Reinbold in 1989. He prayed for a sister and Valerie was born into the family in 1991. The family lived in Milwaukie, OR and Rio Rancho, NM. Paul earned a BA in history and a master’s degree in accounting at the University of NM. Paul served 3 years as an officer (LTJG) in the U.S. Navy in which he did two tours in the Persian Gulf. He worked most recently for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in accounting. Paul was an avid reader of current events, history, and politics, played video games with friends weekly, loved comedy, and enjoyed being an Airbnb host for several years. He was pragmatic, strategic, goofy, and loyal. Paul was devoted to his family and friends (and neighbors the Renzes who were like family).
He is survived by his parents Pete and Diane Reinbold, sister Valerie Reinbold, grandmother Irma Fuerstenau, grandfather Gene Reinbold, step-grandmother Nancy Reinbold, aunts and uncles Jim and Darla Reinbold, Duane and Ronda Fuerstenau, Daryl and Gretchen Fuerstenau, and cousins David Reinbold, Krista (Reinbold) Shockley, Kira Fuerstenau, Ryan Fuerstenau, and Justin Fuerstenau. He was preceded in death by grandmother Mary Reinbold and grandfather Maynard Fuerstenau.
A graveside service will be held on September 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 351 Coonpath Rd. NE, Lancaster, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Open Arms Adoptions Inc. or the Warrior Care Network.
