Paul M. Ritter of Oradell, NJ passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Paul was a graduate of The George Washington University, earned his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and his LLM from New York University School of Law. Paul went on to have a successful career as a lawyer in New York for over 40 years and taught Taxation of Executive Compensation at New York University School of Law. He was an active member of Temple Avodat Shalom in River Edge, serving on the board.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife Janet of 44 years; his devoted children Michael and Elise Ritter of Garden City, NY and their two children Elizabeth and Matthew, Daniel and Chelsea Ritter of New York, NY and their son Charlie, and Emily and Scott Kalishman of St. Louis, MO and their two children Nolan and Isaac; and his sister Marsha and Elliot Scheck, their children Robyn and Jack Mehler and Carly and Justin Trippe.
A funeral will be held on Friday, November 24, 2023, at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ at noon. The family will be sitting Shiva at the family home at the following days and times: Saturday, November 25, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, Sunday, November 26, from 12:00pm-3:00pm and 5:00pm-8:00pm, and Monday, November 27, from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Each evening there will be a Shiva Minyan at 5:30pm.
The family requests donations to be made to the Garden City Jewish Center on Long Island and Congregation B'nai Amoona in St. Louis.
