Paul Richard "Rick" Schwarte, age 71, of Versailles, passed away on August 1, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1954, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Kenneth Paul and Mary Margaret (Bagot) Schwarte.
After completing his education, Rick entered the workforce and spent several years working as a mechanic—a trade he truly enjoyed. In later years, he turned his focus to real estate, buying, refurbishing, and selling homes.
Rick's greatest joys in life were his family and the simple pleasures—fishing, sharing a beer with his friends, and working on cars at his home. He enjoyed breakfast at The Rolling Pin Bakery and took great pride in woodworking during his younger years. One of his favorite things was riding along with his son Nick to look at job estimates.
He is survived by his children: Nick (Sydney) Schwarte, Rick Schwarte, and Melissa Schwarte (Brad Finch); 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and brothers Randy (Jen) Schwarte and Ron Schwarte.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with funeral services to follow at 4:00 PM, all at Neal's Funeral Home in Osgood. Burial will follow at Greendale Cemetery, Osgood.
