Paul William Sheets, 91, of Pocahontas departed this life on February 28, 2024, at the Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas.
Paul was born to the late Harrison Sheets and Bertha Hillis Sheets on September 30, 1932, in Mill Springs, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry, and Bertha Sheets; wife Anna Sheets; sister Dorothy Montgomery, Betty Newland, Paulene (Enoch) Thompson, Glenda Garris, and Janet Gregory; brothers, Ed Sheets, and George Sheets; one granddaughter, Holli Caughern.
He is survived by his children, Terrie (Ed) Hogue of Greenbriar, Doug (Tammy) Sheets of Pocahontas, and Kelly Sheets of Pocahontas; grandchildren, Ryan Sheets, Cristy Marshel, Alex Crocker, Sydney Guthrie, Ethan Sheets, Rachel Bradford, Lorraine Baltz, Sarah Duke, and Jason Couch; fifteen great grandchildren; many other family and friends.
Paul was a long-time business owner. He served on the board at LWCD and Quorum Court as well as serving as a Gideon for many years, but his passion was serving Jesus in the capacity of Deacon and song director at Sutton Free Will Baptist Church since 1960.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Kevin Barnett and Randy Scott officiating. All services will be held at the Sutton Free Will Baptist Church with the burial to follow in the Sutton Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Ryan Sheets, Ethan Sheets, Dax Caughern, Lawton Robinson, Jim Grissom and Austin Baltz.
Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Jones, Joe Crisp and Garret Guthrie.
The family extends a special thank you to the Randolph County Nursing Home staff for their tender and loving care.
