My condolences to Martha, David, and all of Paul's family and friends. I was living in Troy MI when I first met Paul. We were both staff writers for Drum Corps News and we met at a drum corps show in Port Huron MI around 1980. We became fast friends and traveling companions, venturing far and wide to cities like Allentown PA, Whitewater WI, Dallas TX, Kansas City MO, Buffalo NY and MANY more over the years for drum corps competitions. I helped in procuring equipment to start the Royal Lancers Alumni corps in the late 1980's. I joined the Royal Lancers right after the alumni reunion in 1988 and Paul and I both played mellophone in the corps for several years. We worked together to co-chair a Drum Corps Midwest contest in Wyandotte. And we drank a LOT of beers together over the years. I left Michigan in the late 90's but Paul and I stayed in touch and I saw him occasionally when I returned to the Detroit area on business. I have so many great memories of a dear friend, and I will remember the good times we shared. RIP, Marine.
