Paul Stafford Jr., 77, a lifelong Martinsville resident, died on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at the Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on December 13, 1946 in Martinsville to the late Paul Stafford and Edna Mae (Crawshaw) Stafford.
He was a Martinsville High School graduate with the class of 1964. He retired from Navistar in 1997 where he was a supervisor. He also was self employed as an auto mechanic and owned Stafford Dirt Hobbies, an excavating business. He married the love of his life, Nicole “Nikki” Lynn Gilliam, on June 29, 1996.
His family describes him as a professional television watcher. He greatly enjoyed his TV time and loved anything “manly” including Yellowstone, Chuck Norris, Rocky, and Rambo. He also was an avid Elvis Presley fan. When he was not overly entertained, he also had achieved professional status at napping. All joking aside, he loved his family. He greatly enjoyed spending time with them and especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren.
Paul is survived by his wife, Nikki Stafford of Martinsville; sons, Brian (wife, Sonja) Stafford of Martinsville, Brad Stafford of Bloomington, Sean (wife, Joy) Stafford of Nashville, TN, and Patrick Stafford of Martinsville; daughters, Angie (husband, Tom) Crockett of Quincy, Stacey (husband, Ryan) Fagg of Plainfield, Rachel Stafford of Mooresville, and Rebecca Stafford of Martinsville; brother, Fred (wife, Myra) Stafford of Martinsville; sisters, Sharon Stafford of Martinsville, Ginger (husband, Tony) Kelly of Martinsville, Lora Tworek of Martinsville, and Robin (husband, Doug) Johnson of Martinsville; thirty grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Edna Stafford; daughter, Leslie Jo Stafford; brothers, Gary Stafford and Charles Stafford; sister, Ruth Rader; and grandchildren, Thomas Ray Crockett and Cody Daniel Stafford.
