Paul Anthony Stavinoha, 68, of Spring, Texas, went to be with the Lord, on April 14, 2024. Paul was born in Houston, Texas on November 17, 1955. He was the son of Jerome and Ruby Stavinoha. Paul was the beloved brother of Jerome, David, John, Veronica, Joseph and Matthew. He graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1974, where he excelled academically and was an All-State pitcher.
As a child, Paul's favorite book was "Policeman Paul" and in 1975 Paul followed his childhood dream to serve his community and joined the Houston Police Department. Paul dedicated 49 years of his life to the department, where he ultimately became the most tenured member. In 1986, the Houston Police Department awarded Paul with the Medal of Valor for his bravery and in the same year he received the officer of the year award from The 100 Club in recognition for his professionalism and his fearless dedication to duty. On May 14, 1991 the department awarded Paul with the prestigious life-saving award. Throughout his tenure Paul received multiple accolades and awards including, 1 Mayor's Commendation, 2 Chief of Police Commendations, 2 Assistant Chief Commendations, 11 Supervisor Commendations, and 15 letters of appreciation from citizen's that he impacted. One of Paul's greatest achievements was passing on his passion for law enforcement to his nephew Charles.
Beyond his distinguished career in law enforcement, Paul loved to hit the open road on a motorcycle or in one of his beloved corvettes. He found solace and joy in tending to his yard, transforming it into a haven of beauty and tranquility. He poured his heart and soul into manicuring every inch of his yard, turning it into a sanctuary where he could escape the stresses of the world and find peace in nature.
Paul's unwavering dedication to his career was matched only by his devotion to his family. Paul was a loving husband to his wife Noi. A cherished father to Jessica and husband Alex Karpiuk, Michael Stavinoha and his fiancé Megan, and Spencer Sisneros. Paw Paw's legacy lives on in his two beloved granddaughters Kendall and Juliette.

Paul was a great person and done some ornamental iron work at him home. He knew my brother from St. Thomas that had passed before Paul did. Now they can be together in heaven and talk about old times. My condolences to his family.
