Paul Sullivan Obituary

Dr. Paul Michael Sullivan

PAUL MICHAEL SULLIVAN - LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER AND FRIEND. Paul cherished family, was devoted to medicine and life-long learning, and lived his life guided by his faith and the Hippocratic Oath. He strived to be a good man and his heart was most content when he was in the service of others. He was adventurous and saw much of the world via the Nomads with his wife, Phyllis Sullivan, and best friends. He was a simple man who preferred to spend time working in the woods, playing poker with his friends on Friday nights, taking annual fishing trips, or listening to Arturo Toscanini's interpretation of Beethoven's 9th. His life was full of laughter, and outside of a good quad espresso and pipe, he loved playing tricks on others. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family alongside his loving wife Phyllis (LaPrese) Sullivan of 63 years who together raised eight children. He is survived by; Patrick and Annie Sullivan, Maura and Chris Davies, Katie and Brad Bishop, Michael and Laura Sullivan, Paul and Judy Sullivan, Brian and Beth Sullivan, Molly Sullivan, and Matthew and Molly Sullivan, along with 15 grandchildren who he dearly loved; Colin, Cabriel, Laura, Megan, Gemma, Kelli, Alaina, Callah, Jake, Matthew, Noah, Nick, Brennan, Matthew, and Joe. Funeral Mass Friday, March 19, 2021, 11am at St. Regis Catholic Church, 3695 Lincoln Rd., Bloomfield Hills. The Mass will also be livestreamed and can be viewed on St. Regis' website. Memorial tributes to Right to Life - Lifespan or Angela Hospice. A.J. Desmond & Sons, (248) 549-0500.

Dr Sullivan was my pediatrician and diagnosed me with juvenile diabetes in 1968. I was 9 years old. He was also my 2 daughters Dr as well. He was such a great person. My memories are so vivid, still, after all these years. I have thought often of him over the years. I so wish I would have reached out to him. He would be pleased that I've made it 53 years with T1 diabetes. It is pleasing to know that he lived a long and happy life. He is now blessed with eternal life and the promise that he will see you all again. Bless you all. Long live his legacy.

My sincerest sympathy. Dr Sullivan was a physician in every sense of the word, one of the best. I am honored to have known him, worked with patients together with him, and privileged to have been one of his doctors. They don't make 'em like this anymore. Dr Bill Ward
