Paul Reed Teakell was born March 7, 1989. He was born on his due date, and that was the last time that he was ever on time. He was born to Lisa Teakell Keck and Robert Teakell in Odessa, Texas.
Reed graduated from Fossil Ridge High School in Ft. Worth and attended Oklahoma State University where he majored in architecture.

He was met in heaven by grandfathers, Larry D. Hailes, Jesse Paul Kirkland Jr., Louis V. “Pop” Teakell; aunt, Donna Lynn Teakell-Jones, and Uncle Jesse Paul “Trey” Kirkland III.

Reed is survived by his parents, his sister, Kelsi Teakell-Sanchez and her husband Victor Sanchez; his stepparents, Leann Teakell and Josh Keck; as well as grandmothers, Sheridan “Nannie” C. Kirkland, Gladys “Mema” Ruth Teakell, Peggy Sue Hailes; his stepsiblings and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and puppies.

Reed worked for many years at Kirkland Bros. Inc. before he founded his own company, Space City Logistics. His career was as colorful as his personality as he then pivoted to professional ballroom dancing at Arthur Murray Cypress, where under Maria and Hunter Johnson he won the Rookie of the Year award in 2018.

Reed had a smile and a way about him that drew people to him. He was generous with his friends and loved his family fiercely, particularly his baby sister, Kelsi. His sense of humor was infectious, and friends and family spent hours laughing with Reed. Reed loved his dogs Rojo, Zuli, Frasier, and any other he happened to be around. Ballroom dancing continued to be a passion and a past time.

Reed’s large personality could fill any room he was in, and everyone was welcome to join in his spontaneous and hilarious adventures. Lake time with family and friends was foundational to our family life. He could make anything into an adventure; a car ride, a midnight shopping trip, or the best roadtrip to nowhere ever. He was always a fighter, from debating (literally anything) to fighting to spend just a bit more time with his family and friends.

Reed will be incredibly missed by his family and friends. He was loved so big.
