BAKERSFIELD – Paul “Ted” Trombley Jr., age 76, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Bakersfield.
He was born in St. Albans on May 11, 1947 to the late Paul Sr. & Bertha (Thibault) Trombley.
After graduating high school, Ted embarked on a fulfilling career as a lineman for McCoy Power, where he put his skills and technical expertise to good use. Outside of work, Ted was known as a passionate tinkerer, always starting new projects and pursuing his love for technological advancements.
Ted had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling, with camping trips to Lake Carmi and the beautiful coast of Maine being among his favorite getaways. The breathtaking views and the experiences sitting around the campfire filled his heart with joy. Among his many passions, one of Ted's greatest pleasures was indulging in fresh lobster. He had an uncanny knack for striking the best deals with lobster boats, ensuring he could savor the finest catches at an affordable price. Ted also loved spending time with his girls, whether that be coaching their softball teams, or “wasting gas” on a joy ride with no destination in mind.
He leaves behind his wife, Diane Trombley of Bakersfield; three daughters, Christina Trombley-Hicks and her husband Kevin, Emily Trombley-Machia and her husband Shaun, and Jennifer Trombley and her significant other Nick Rodehorst; three grandchildren, Garrett Hicks, Benjamin Rodehorst, and Nora Hicks; siblings, Claire Boutah and her husband George, Carolyn Hall and her husband Dennis, John Trombley and his wife Jeannette, Mary Ellen Prairie and her husband Roland, Ramona Trombley, Marshia Vincoli, Juanita Manley and her significant other Andre Dufault, and George Trombley and his wife Carolyn; siblings-in-law, Robin Trombley, Larry Lamore and his wife Diane, Linda LaBelle and her husband Richard, Michael Lamore and his wife Barbara, and Elizabeth Boylan and her husband Robert; and many nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by his siblings, Daniel Trombley, Timothy Trombley, and Sherrie Trombley.
