Paul Francis Vogel, Sr.
Paul passed away peacefully in Houghton Lake, MI surrounded by his family at the age of 76. He was born and raised in Lansing, MI. He and wife, Nancy, moved to Houghton Lake in 2013.
His parents, Francis and Evelyn (Beachnau) predeceased him as did two sisters, Eilein McNamara and Bernadette Rose, and three brothers, Charles, Kenneth, and Estin. Paul is survived by his wife, Nancy; his children, Kimberly and Paul Jr., a grandson, Ryan; twin great granddaughters, Alyssa and Aubrie; great grandsons, Madden and Parker. He is also survived by two dear sisters, JoAnn Deuel and Karen Merrifield, several nieces and nephews, and many, many special friends.
Paul was a proud 50+ year member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was also a member of the Moose and Eagles.
Paul was a jack of all trades. He had a tool for everything and could fix almost any problem anyone had. He adored his family, his friends, his pets, playing golf, hunting, fishing, and playing cards, particularly poker and euchre. He was a sports enthusiast who loved professional football, Nascar, and was an avid MSU fan.
Visitation will be held at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes Delta Chapel on Monday, December 2 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm, with a Vigil Service at 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 3 at 10:30am at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Mark Martin as Celebrant, the family will receive friends starting at 9:30am. Interment will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lansing.
Per his wishes, contributions may be made to Munson Healthcare Hospice, Grayling Chapter, 1100 E. Michigan Ave. Grayling, MI 49738.
