Paul E. Wawrzynski, Sr., 85, of Hermitage, formerly of New Castle passed away the morning of November 30, 2024 at Shenango on the Green.
Born in New Castle on March 19, 1939, Paul was the son of the late Edward Wawrzynski and Jenny Kalajainen Wawrzynski.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife, the former Sherrie I. Durrwachter. The two were married on September 15, 1990.
Paul had proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He earned his four- year Bachelor Degree from Youngstown State University in Mechanical Engineering while working seven days a week at Rockwell International, until they closed. He then worked for Yourga Trucking and Reliable Lumber.
Paul was an avid golfer and had played on the Rockwell Golf League. He also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Paul's greatest joy was the time he spent with his family.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his two sons, Dr. Paul E. Wawrynski, II (LeeAnn) and Edward Wawrynski (Molly), his three step-children, Timothy Ryder (Ann), Kimberly Ganies (Claude) and Michael Ryder, his brother, Allen (Cobb) Wawrynski (Rhoda), his grandchildren, Meredith Maria (Christopher), Adam (Kristen), Abby, Katie, Jacob, Rachel, Meredith, Hannah (Danny), Ronald (Delaney), Austin, Amber (Eric), Travis (Jessica), Ashley (Shane), Victoria (Levi), Zachary (Dehja), Shannon (Kyle) and Kelsey (Derek) and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Meredith Andy, two brothers, Ronald and Gerald (Sid) Wawrzynski and his grandson, Joseph.
A Private Funeral Service will be held at the Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
