Paul Zimmer Obituary

Paul was born in Port Huron, MI on October 2, 1943, son of Harold and Marjorie (Fulcher) Zimmer. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Detroit, MI in 1961, Michigan State University (B.A.) 1965 and Wayne State University (J.D.) 1969.
Paul was a brilliant attorney committed to a life of public service, especially the needs of children, and served the majority of his career as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Michigan and of counsel at LaPointe & Associates. His passion for the study of law, language and history was matched by his unparalleled dedication and devotion to his family.
Paul met his loving wife Jamie (Bullock) Zimmer at Michigan State University and they built a wonderful life together with their two daughters, Wendy and Heidi and their grandchildren. Paul and Jamie were active for years as teachers and stewards at Central United Methodist Church. As life-long learners, they were blessed to travel the world together studying arts, history and culture. Paul enjoyed U.S. History, family trips to Cedar Point, MSU Spartan sports and shared these passions with his extended family and dear friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Jamie (Bullock) Zimmer; daughters Wendy (Andy) Cox and Heidi Zimmer (Martin Ebelhardt); grandchildren: Kathryn Linehan, Patrick Linehan, Sarah Kurtze, and Molly Kurtze; brother Mark (Debbie) Zimmer; brother-in-law Gary LaCroix; sisters-in-law Cynthia Bullock and Becky Bullock Reincheld; many nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his parents, sister Margie LaCroix, sister-in-law Virginia Bullock, brothers-in-law: Nels Bullock, Fred Bullock, and John Bullock.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Central United Methodist Church in Lansing, Michigan at 11:00am. Visitation at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Central United Methodist Church are preferred. The family has entrusted arrangements to Mills Funeral Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, Grand Ledge.
