Paula Bates, 69, loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, died Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

Paula was a very beautiful woman with a kind-hearted soul and a beautiful smile that was devoted to her family. She was known as Grandma Turtle to many and loved spending time with her grandchildren and children. She loved keeping up on everyone's daily lives and was a great secret keeper. Her favorite quotes were "well, I don't know" or "I don't care". Paula enjoyed riding motorcycles, taking long trips with her husband and going to the casino. She also enjoyed watching her daily shows and was a big KC Chiefs fan.

Paula is preceded in death by parents, Albert and Blanche Hayes; husband, John Charles Bates; son, John Albert Lee Bates; and brother, Thomas Hayes. She is survived by her daughters, Desiree Bates (spouse, Keaton Mickulesku), Jaime Dunn (spouse, Lance Dunn); grandchildren, Morgan Dunn, KC Dunn, Ryker Mickulesku; sister, Ginger Garrison; nephews, Jim Garrison, Tim Garrison; and numerous extended family.

To help with the final arrangements, donations can be sent to Desiree Bates, 9948 West Yosemite Court, Wichita, Kansas 67215.
