Paula M. Conry

Paula M. Conry (née Melady), 87, of Lincolnshire, IL, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, surrounded by her adoring husband of 63 years, Kenneth, and her three children.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Paula is lovingly remembered by her children: Patricia (Brian) Haas, David (Cathy) Conry, and Carolyn (Artie) Collins; and by her nine grandchildren: Colin and Rachael Haas; Christina, Matthew, and Faith Conry; and Artie, Danny, Madelyn Melady, and Aidan Collins.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving siblings, Rita Rose (Daley) and Michael Melady, along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Antoinette Melady, and by her siblings: Mary
(Marentette), Rev. Thomas "Bud" Melady, Angela (Smith), Peter Joseph "Teddy" Melady, and John Melady.
Born in Windsor, Ontario, Paula was the youngest daughter of eight children in a home filled with love and learning. As the child of two educators, she developed a lifelong passion for knowledge and shared it generously throughout her career as a dedicated elementary school teacher.
As a talented pianist and vocalist, Paula led the children's choir and participated in the adult choir at her parish, spreading joy and beauty through music wherever she served.
After marrying Ken and welcoming their first two children, the family moved to London, England, for professional opportunities and later welcomed their third child. Paula and Ken, as passionate travelers, explored over 30 countries in Europe and Africa, learning from and embracing each new culture. They later settled in the United States, where Paula was an active member of her communities in both Illinois and Florida. She volunteered at Highland Park Hospital, sang in the Holy Cross Church choir,
participated in golf and bridge leagues, and served on a Lay Commission with the Archdiocese of Chicago.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1775 Grove Street, Glenview, Illinois 60025. CLICK HERE for a virtual link for a livestream of Mass. Visitation will precede the Mass beginning at 9:15 a.m. A lunch reception will follow the service. Interment private at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Northbrook, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Malachy's School, a cause dear to Paula's heart.
