Paula Misciagna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ballard Funeral Home on Oct. 18, 2024.
Paula "Patti" Misciagna of Cody passed away, at home, on Thursday, October 17th, surrounded by family who loved her. She was born in Monroe, Louisiana on May 24, 1944, to Paul and Inez Gawthorp. Official records show that she was born on the 25th of May, but she was quick to correct that error. During World War II, the doctor that delivered her before midnight waited until the next day to record her birth. As a military brat, she moved a lot as a child but graduated from Bellevue NE High School in Bellevue, Nebraska in 1962.
On December 31, 1974, Patti married the love her life, Nick Misciagna, in Los Angeles, California. Nick and Patti moved to Danville in 1976, with Nick opening a law firm in San Francisco while Patti worked as the office manager. In the late 1990s Nick retired from his law practice and the two moved to Cody, Wyoming, where she lived for over 25 years.
Patti was known for her love of Standard Schnauzers, which she bred and showed for many years. Her last two, Heidi and Nikki, survived her. All were her angels in life. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, big game hunting and drives in Yellowstone National Park to watch the animals. She became a Master Gardener, planting and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Finally, her beautiful quilts will be cherished by all.
She is survived by stepchildren Daniel Misciagna of Missoula, Melody Silberstein of Walnut Creek, and Thomas Misciagna of Seattle; grandchildren Staci Silberstein, Solange Misciagna, Orian Misciagna, and Tasha Allen-Johnson; and nephew Bobby Dale Sims, Jr. of Loomis, California.
While Patti was quick with a smile and laugh, she was also a smart, strong, independent and, sometime stubborn, woman. She will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.
