Born on March 3, 1943, in Tonawanda, New York, Paula lived a life marked by deep faith, enduring love, and joyful adventure.For over 60 years, Paula was the devoted wife of John Pekar. Together they built a life filled with love and shared experiences, traveling across the country and embracing every opportunity for adventure. Their bond was a testament to enduring partnership and mutual devotion.Paula was a loving mother to her son Scott Pekar and daughter Ashley Pekar Luescher. She welcomed into her heart her daughter-in-law Jessica Pekar and son-in-law Mike Luescher. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Michaela Luescher, Brogan Luescher, Hayden Pekar, and Josiah Pekar.She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Alva Hayden; her mother- and father-in-law, Jean and John Pekar; and her beloved aunt Dolores Kitchen. She is also remembered by her cousin Val Kitchen.A woman of strong faith, Paula was a longtime member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church where she served faithfully on the Altar Guild. Her spiritual life was central to who she was-guiding her actions and nurturing the many friendships she formed within her church community.Paula embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She found joy in dragon boat racing, practicing yoga, spending time with friends, and being active in her church. Above all else, she treasured her role as a wife and mother-finding purpose and fulfillment in caring for those she loved most.Her warmth touched many lives, and the memories of her kindness and spirit will continue to inspire those who knew her.May Paula's memory bring comfort to all who were blessed to know her. A Memorial Mass will be held on July 19, 2025, at 02:00 PM at St Mark's Episcopal Church 4 Church Street. We will meet in the fellowship hall after the service.
