Paula Faye Woods, 72, of Salisbury, MO, passed away Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Moberly Regional Hospital in Moberly, MO.
Paula was born on October 9, 1952, in Atlanta, MO, the daughter of Roy and Theda Jean (Bealmer) Via. She married early in life and had a set of twins from that union. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale G. "Woodsy" Woods on July 3, 1971. Paula was a farm girl at heart and had a deep passion for animals, particularly horses. She worked in the food service industry with her primary focus in restaurants and bars. Paula was an organ donor. Also, her love of animals continues as she donated her pacemaker to the MU Veterinary Health Center. Paula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be greatly missed.
Paula is survived by her four children, Tony (Trinh) Smith of Houston, TX, Tonya Smith of Salisbury, MO, Casie Baumann of Cairo, MO, and Shelly Crabtree of Salisbury, MO; seven grandchildren, T.J. (Kyle) Hall, Tiffani (Kit) Wahl, Jacob (Hailey) Crabtree, Kaleb (Kayla) Smith, Dalton (Abby) Crabtree, Trevor (Debra) Crabtree, Callista Smith; 13 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two sisters, Virginia Hatt of Blue Springs, MO, and Tracy (Brad) Beeler of Greenwood, MO; two half-brothers, Roy E Via and Gene Via; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale, on March 19, 2018; one sister, Kathy Cooley; and great-granddaughter, Nyx Rosalee Crabtree.
A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 11, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Macon, MO. The family suggests memorials to the American Stroke/Heart Association. Arrangements are under the direction of Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO.
