PAULANN FINUCANE Obituary

FINUCANE, Paulann (LeBlanc) "Polly" A longtime resident of Maynard, died peacefully at her home, March 11, 2024. She was 84 years old and the beloved wife of David J. Finucane. They would have been married 63 years this November. Polly was born and raised in Waltham, attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. She met her husband, David in 1959 and they were married in 1961. Polly worked for some time at insurance companies in Waltham and Maynard, moving to Maynard in 1971. In 1975, Polly and her husband had the opportunity to own their own business in town, Paulann's Fashions, which closed in 1981. She then spent over 35 years working at Gould's Clothing in Acton, a job she truly enjoyed, retiring in September 2018. Polly also enjoyed painting in oils; and was fortunate to travel not only within the U.S., but to many destinations abroad. She and her family enjoyed trips to Italy, Ireland, Sicily, Paris and London. Polly also enjoyed cruising, with several trips to include the Panama Canal, with her husband, family and friends. More than anything, Polly enjoyed spending time with her family, not only in New England, but in Maryland, Virginia, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, Colorado and Ireland; as well as her many friends, including the "Club girls", who will all miss her dearly. Polly is lovingly survived by her husband, David J. Finucane; her son, Michael D. Finucane (Todd Eichmann) of Palm Springs, CA; and William J. Crossen (Kandi) of Ocala, FL. She also leaves her sister, Jeanne Aquilia (Joe); her sister-in-law, Linda Finucane; and many nieces and nephews. Polly was predeceased by her parents, Barbara (1971) and Lorenzo "Larry" (1977); and her sister, Patricia "Pat" Beland (2022). Sadly, Polly was predeceased by her two children, the late Timothy Patrick Finucane (1966) and Cathy Ann Finucane (2018). While Polly loved flowers, she felt they were for the living. The family asks that if you wish to remember Polly, contributions could be made to the following local organizations, in lieu of flowers: Maynard Food Pantry, P.O. Box 55, Maynard, MA 01754. American Cancer Society, Attn: Relay For Life of Maynard 285MMF, P.O. Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701. Both organizations have asked that if you choose to remember Mom, that you include her name. Relatives and friends are invited to Visiting Hours, on Sunday, March 17, from 2 to 4PM, in the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rte. 111), ACTON. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 18, at 10:00AM, in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Great Road, Maynard. www.actonfuneralhome.com

I was saddened to hear about Polly. I have the best memories of working alongside Polly at Gould´s when I was in high school and trying to keep up with all her energy! My thoughts to the family.
