Paulette Lebowitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beyers Funeral Home & Crematory - Leesburg on Nov. 21, 2025.
Paulette Marks Lebowitz passed away unexpectedly following years of painful heath challenges on Wednesday, November 19 at the age of 77, in the Villages, Florida. Born on April 2, 1948, to the late Shirley and Herman Marks, she was an older sister to Jeffrey and the late Malcom Marks, a devoted wife of 56 years to Eric "Rick", a loving mother to Todd (Lisa) Lebowitz and Kim (Chad) Feingold, an adoring grandmother to Megan (fiancé Adam), Andy, Lindsay, Max, and Eli, an adored dog mom to Lexy, and a treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Her fairytale love story and the two generations of family that it spawned were her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.

Paulette's embodiment of compassion, optimism, sociability, humor, and creativity were obvious to those who knew her. Her creativity took many forms. As a teenager, she was a gifted writer with a weekly column in the Miami News. Her coverage of the inauguration of President Johnson from the eyes of a teen was a frontpage multi-day story. Her creativity spanned writing, photography, ikebana flower arranging, competitive rose growing, paper collage, and card making. In her 60's, she and her late mother Shirley founded Cardiologists, home of exquisite handmade greeting cards. Working in her home studio, learning new techniques, and creating cards for those she cherished proved to be her sanctuary and sanity in the last decade. She was a voracious reader, a tennis player, Mahjong and Samba enthusiast, but took the most pleasure in socializing with family and friends, where she loved to laugh, listen, and impart her valuable wisdom.

A native of Miami, FL, she attended Southwest High School, University of Miami and University of Maryland. She set roots in Miami and relished her role as mother, whether a Brownie troop leader, chaperone of debate trips, or sports sideline-cheering squad. She relished her time working as the practice manager of Tooth Fairy Land, Rick's pediatric dentistry office in Miami. They retired to the Villages in 2009 where she enjoyed an active social life when her health allowed.

A graveside service will take place on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 1901 CR 25-A in Leesburg. A Celebration of Life for Paulette will immediately follow at the Lebowitz residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, as Paulette was a proud 26-year survivor.
