Pauline (Gonzales) Castillo, 82, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025.
Born and raised in Beeville, Texas on December 23, 1942, to Rafael Gonzales and Alicia (Suniga) Gonzales, Pauline lived a life defined by love, faith and dedication. She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Adan Castillo, and together they built a family with warmth and memories. Pauline worked at R.A. Hall Elementary School in Beeville for 37 years, where her legendary rolls became a favorite of students and staff. Pauline faced cancer with unmatched courage and unwavering faith.
Her care and love extended beyond her work, especially for family and friends. Her daughters and grandchildren were the light of her life as she showered them with endless love and devotion creating lifelong memories for her family.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Elisa and Rafael Gonzales; her loving husband, Adan Castillo; and three brothers, Rafael Gonzales Jr., Ovidio Gonzales and Ernest Gonzales.
Left behind to cherish loving memories include her two daughters, Oralia Santellana and Margarita Luna; her brother, Joe Gonzales; and her sisters, Rosa Gaitan, Mary Lopez and Patsy Beltran.
Pauline’s pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Hector Santellana Jr., Veronica Castro, Valyn Mendoza and Heather Martinez; as well as her eight great-grandchildren, Leticia and Hector Santellana III, Lillianna Reyes, Mia, Sophia and Christopher Castro and Benjamin and Maximo Martinez; and five great-great-grandchildren, Leah and Lyla Villanueva, Monica and Mia Valdez and Isaiah Reyes. Her legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 27, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 6 o’clock.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Beeville Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Hector Santellana Jr., Hector Santellana III, Christopher Castro, James Castro, Archie Martinez and Jose Gonzales Jr.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Benjamin and Maximo Martinez.
