Pauline Gaines Latham, age 86 went home to rest with our Almighty God on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Pauline was born February 24, 1936, to the late Walter Gaines, Sr. and Ellen Heiskell Gaines in Sweetwater, Tennessee.
Pauline worked for many years at Crescent Hosiery Mill in Niota, Tennessee until her retirement. She loved her family dearly and was a caregiver to many of them until their transitioning. Pauline also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, shopping and dressing herself in flattering clothing, shoes, and jewelry. She was a beautiful and classy, yet spunky lady with a compassionate heart for others.
She professed her faith and belief in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her personal savior at an early age, and joined Mt. Bethel Baptist church, where she sang in the choir. Pauline later transferred her membership to North Point CPCA and Mt. Cumberland (Piney) CPCA where she attended faithfully until her failing health would not allow.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sr and Ellen Heiskell Gaines, husband, Harrison Edgar Latham. Three beloved children, Theresa Manya Jackson, Alex Paul Jackson, and Clarence Althonia (Buggy) Jackson. Siblings, John Hugh (Margaret) Gaines, Walter (Red) Gaines, Laura F. Gaines (John) Armstrong, and sister-in-law, Ethel Latham Gaines.

Four grandsons, Colby Jackson, Louisville, KY, Rashad, Demetrius, and Jeremiah Jackson, Sweetwater, TN. Three granddaughters, Kree and Jada Jackson, Ooltewah, TN., and Shemika (Benji) Cox, Cleveland, TN. Three great-grandchildren, Hezekiah Jackson, Sariya and Kaija Cox.
