Pauline Martinsen Smuin

Pauline was born on August 14, 1943 in Vernal, Utah to D’Almaine and Helen Mar Martinsen. She was raised in Vernal and graduated from the class of 1961 she then attended business college. She met and married the love of her life, Lynn Charles Smuin, they married on May 3, 1963 in Elko, Nevada, and later solemnized October of 1989 in the Provo, Utah Temple.
She worked at many businesses in the community, but her most beloved position was greeting everyone at the hospital for over 20 years. She enjoyed going to all of her children’s and grandchildren’s events, especially anything that had to do with sports. She was a fierce competitor. She loved to play gin, and would play with anyone right up until her last days. She had a heart felt zeal towards the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and attending the temple.
Pauline is survived by her sweetheart Lynn Smuin, children; Janette (Kelly) Jones, of New Castle Wy., Sonja (Vance) Norton, of Vernal, UT., Marsha (Ron) Gardner, of Vernal, UT., Ulene (James) Jensen, of Mapleton, UT., Isaac Lynn (Carrie Beth) Smuin, of Houston, TX., Stephanie (Wes) Gilroy, of Vernal, UT., 21 grandchildren, and 16 great- grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents D’Almaine and Helen Mar Martinsen, Sons; Morgan Charles and Neil Dal Smuin, Siblings; Dorothy and Raymond Martinsen.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 at the Vernal Stake Center at 12 noon. With viewings held Sunday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Mortuary, and Monday 1 hour prior to service at the Stake Center. Services are under the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, please do service unto others as Pauline would do.
