Pearline Murray Obituary
Pearline Rose Murray, lovingly known as Rose, peacefully passed away on January 20th, 2026, at the age of 84, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born on May 2, 1941, in Middle Buxton, St. Ann, Jamaica, West Indies, Pearline lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was known for her strong will, wisdom, love for animals, storytelling, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Pearline was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who took great pride in her family. She especially cherished time spent during family gatherings, holidays, church, cooking, and gardening. Her love and guidance will continue to live on through those she touched.
Pearline is survived by her children, Paulette Laird, Patrick Laird, Paul Laird, and Jaqueline Laird; her grandchildren, Daneyan Callum, Doug Callum, Levene Forney, Ricardo Carnegie, and Sheneese Carnegie-Spriggs; her great-grandchildren, Alia, Kemari, Romaine, Emoni, Kalia, Caleb, Shayan, Tyreil, Ezekiel, Reagan, Logan, and Noah; and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Pearline Rose Murray will be remembered for her love, faith, and resilience. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
A celebration of Pearline's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment 25824 Greensville Ave. Petersburg, Virginia, Elder Wendell Fletcher, Officiating, Eulogy, Liberty Chapel Gospel Service, Fort Lee Virginia.
Interment will follow on Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park 2901 West Hundred Road Chester, Virginia 23831.
A public viewing will be held Friday, January 23, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the J. L. Dodson and Sons Funeral Establishment, 25824 Greensville Avenue. Petersburg, Virginia.
The family is asking relatives and friends to assemble at the funeral home on the day of the service at 9:45 a.m.
