High Point – Peggy Josephine Nesbitt Clark, 79, formerly of Parkton and Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Born March 15, 1946, in Lincoln County, Peggy was the son of the late Breece Caldwell and Josephine Harrington Nesbitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Anthony Clark, and her brother, Breece Caldwell Nesbitt, Jr.
From her son, Joseph - Mom was an amazing woman who could type faster than anyone I had ever seen. She has more Facebook accounts than anyone I know but I'm not sure which one she uses and which ones she forgot the password to. She was beautiful to the point that it was embarrassing for me when she would come to pick me up, like in 2nd grade, and the boys would whistle at her. Or the time we went to the county fair in Fayetteville, and I was in 3rd grade and some guy came up out of nowhere and hands her the biggest teddy bear I had ever seen. It was bigger than me at the time, and he took her picture with it. The next day she was on the front page of the Fayetteville Observer newspaper in full color. Also, she wouldn't get speeding tickets even though she was speeding.
She lost her mother when she was in her mid-twenties, which affected her so much. She loved her dad, or as we called him Paw Paw, or as the state knew him as first Sgt BC Nesbitt of the NC Highway Patrol. She was close with her brothers, Ronnie and Breece, and was super close to Breece whom she talked to literally every day. Mom made the best meatloaf in the world. She raised my brother and I as a single mother from the time I was 2 until I was 6 because my father left us. She remarried an amazing man when I was six who became my true lifelong dad, Papa T, who taught me to love Carolina blue that Dean Smith was never wrong. Together they would win dance contests together. They also gave Chris and I a new sister and brother, Ashley and Brian.
Mom was always the life of the party, but at times she would throw a "hand grenade" into the room to watch the drama. You never had to guess what she was thinking because she was telling you. If you were my mother's friend, you truly knew it and if you weren't you truly knew it.
Mom was fun and loved to laugh, she always welcomed my friends no matter who they were. She always made Christmas special, especially when we had no money. She loved decorating and painting rooms and moving things around. She loved London and our family and friends there, and she also loved Vegas.
She somehow found every scammer on the phone and on the internet. I'm sure a lot of her money made it to India and Nigeria. She loved to shop, she loved her kids and loved her grandchildren the best, she did everything she could to spoil them. Mom loved her dogs - all those dogs over the years, many dogs, every size from greyhounds to the itty bitty one and all sizes between.
She was a cheerleader, a beauty queen, a secretary, a wife, a grandmother. and my mother and most of all she will be missed. I love you, mom!
