Peggy Lee Runyon Parker, age 77, of Caney Creek - Pikeville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Pikeville Medical Center.
Peggy was born June 1, 1948, the daughter of the late Joe Dennis and Georgia Clark Runyon at Johns Creek, Kentucky. Before her retirement,
Peggy had worked for Bell South and had been a grant writer for the Pike County Board of Education. Peggy was a member of Mayflower Unity Baptist Church. She was a member of the Republican Women's Club.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Parker; and a step-son, Robbie Parker; one brother, Homer Runyon; one half-brother, Jim Nunnery; and three sisters, Lanita Brown, Mavella Ray, and Daphne Humphries.
Her survivors include: one brother, Clarence Runyon of Jeff, Kentucky; one brother-in-law, Harold Ray of Pikeville, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In honor of her love for our country, Peggy's wishes were for those attending her visitation and funeral to wear something red.
Active Pallbearers will be: Andrew Back, Eric Back, Cole Humphries, Cooper Humphries, Corbin Humphries, Chad Logan, Ross Logan, Michael Ray, Joseph Slone, and Bryan White.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Clarence Runyon, Deidra Cantwell, Randall Smith, Jason Humphries, Marian Fields, Cheryl Lucas, Steve Ray, Paul Dennis Runyon, and Melissa Runyon-Medina.
Visitation will be at J. W. Call and Son Funeral Home on Thursday, November 6, 2025, beginning at 12:00 noon, and continuing until time for the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. with Tim McClanahan officiating.
Burial will follow at Davidson Memorial Garden at Ivel, Kentucky.
