Cecilia - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Peggy Jean Mouton, 56, who passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Lafayette, LA.

A visitation will take place at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

A Rosary will be prayed at 8:30 AM on Saturday.

Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate the memorial service. 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peggy Jean Mouton, loving mother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on July 3, 1969, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Peggy brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered, creating treasured memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

Peggy was a spirited individual who cherished her family above all else. The bonds she shared with her daughters, Atlanta and Ary Mouton, were profound and filled with boundless love.

A dedicated teller in the gaming industry, Peggy found happiness in her work and in the vibrant experiences that life had to offer. She loved the thrill of the casino, often enjoying evenings filled with laughter and camaraderie with loved ones. Her passions extended to decorating her home for the holidays, indulging in her love for shopping-especially for purses and perfumes-and enjoying her favorite wrestling shows or listening to music that made her soul sing.

As we gather to celebrate Peggy's remarkable journey, we will remember her radiant smile, her unwavering love, and the light she brought into our lives. Her family and friends will carry her legacy forward, finding comfort in the countless memories shared. Rest in peace, dear Peggy. You will be deeply missed but your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, Atlanta Mouton and Ary Mouton; sisters, Debbie Mouton and Janet Mouton; and her nieces and nephews, Keithon Mouton, Bly Mouton, Xavier Thibeaux. Jasmine Thibeaux, Zion Matthews, Colin Matthews, Shar'de Mouton, India Mouton, and Jena Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Anna Rose Roberts Mouton; sister, Eula Mae Roberts; brothers, Jimmy Mouton and Anthony "Tony" Mouton; uncles, Calvin Roberts, Melvin Roberts, Alphonse Roberts, Joseph Roberts, Verlie Mae Pat, Annie Mae Singleton, and Elsie Rose Gordon; and her grandparents, Alfred and Bernice Roberts.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to her hospice nurse, Lana Martin and her aides, Cookie and Mrs. Cindy, as well as Chaplin Shelton and Mrs. Maria, for the compassionate care given to her during her time of need.
