Peggy Wagner Royston went to be with her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on February 21, 2025, in the privacy of her home in Church Hill. She was born on May 17, 1939, in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Peggy graduated from Church Hill High School in 1957 and worked as a switchboard operator before becoming a devoted mother to her children Pamela and Michael. She was beloved by all who knew her and will be remembered for her generous hospitality, sense of humor, and love for her family. She attended Ridgeview Baptist Church.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Nora Lee and Marvin Wagner; husband, James Royston; and siblings, Evelyn Collier, Maurice Wagner, Ronald Wagner, and Delmas Wagner.
She is survived by her sister, Genell Dingus; daughter, Pamela Royston Ferrell (Chris); son, Michael Royston (Wendy); grandchildren, Brent Bledsoe (Julianne), Meredith Brown (Andy), Cullen Royston (Kacie), Savannah Royston, and Caleb Royston; and special nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her faithful companion, Bella Rose the Pug.
A funeral service to honor Peggy's life will be held at Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 25 at 6:30 pm. The family will receive friends before the service between 4:30-6:30 pm. A graveside service will be held at Church Hill Memory Gardens Cemetery at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:40 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Services officiated by Pastor Jon Rogers and Reverend Chris Ferrell. Music provided by Wendy Royston and daughter Savannah Royston. The Pallbearers will be Andrew Allen, Brent Bledsoe, Andrew Brown, Brandon Ferrell, Caleb Royston, Cullen Royston, and Brad Royston. Those who wish to honor Peggy's memory can send flowers to Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home.
