Peggy Lee Walton passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, surrounded by her Lord and her devoted caregivers, Mike and Penny. She was a vibrant and loving woman who brought joy to everyone around her. She had a contagious laugh, a giving heart, and a love for singing, dancing, and reading. Her kindness, warmth, and the way she cared for her family and friends left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She always said, "Everything will be alright," a testament to her enduring strength and optimism.
Peggy spent the last 15 months of her life living with and being cared for by her Son-in-Law, Mike Vickers, and her eldest Daughter, Penny School, in Nixa, Missouri.
Survived by:
• Brother: David Walton and his Wife, Ruby Walton.
• Sister: Kathy "Jeannie" Montgomery.
• Daughters: Penny School, Tammy Butt, Angela Myers, and Tracy Brown.
• Sons: Adam Garman and Shawn Garman.
• Beloved Grandchildren: Andrea Montgomery, Markie Colombini, Chelsea Belk, Hayley Brown, Trevon Brown, Jaylan Brown, Nylaje Hill, Jonquavis Hill, Joseph Milssp-Garman, Shane Garman, Corilea Larson Douglas, John Butt, Ashley Butt, Brandon McKeever, and others.
• Cherished Great-Grandchildren: Stephanie Spaugh, Jonathan Spaugh, Samuel Murray, Jerimiah Murray, Katelynn Aubrey, Sarah Rose, and others.
• Great-Great-Grandchildren: Ja'Niylah Spaugh, Andreahnna Miller, Zyon Smith, Maelynn Rose, Savvy Colombini-Grove, Nestor Rivera, Elijah Rivera, Jaylee Brown, Daelynn Hill, Melroyal Hill, Savani Brown.
• Other family: Many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Peggy was preceded in death by:
Her Loving Father, Howard Walton; Beloved Mother, Helen Clark Walton; Beloved Brother, Doug Walton; and Grandson, Dylan Garman.
Peggy will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, joyful spirit, and the love she gave freely to family and friends. Her laughter, generosity, and wisdom will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As she once sang out:
"This is what the old people say: 'Where did all the time go?'
Peggy's final service took place at her bedside, in the Presence of Jesus and His Merciful Grace, with Mike and Penny officiating and surrounding her with love. She was cremated, and her ashes are kept at her last residence with her Daughter and Son-in-Law.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the team at Cox Health, Phoenix Home Health, and the Nixa Community for going above and beyond to make her move from Ohio to Missouri such a welcoming and comforting experience.
