Penny J. Benyi peacefully entered her heavenly home on Nov. 1, 2025, with her husband, Dale of 46 years by her side as they enjoyed one of her favorite pastimes, an Ohio autumn road trip.
Born on May 12, 1957, Penny was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls. In addition to walks in the parks, she had a love for gardening, jigsaw puzzles, coloring, Legos and diamond dotz. Family gatherings, friends, snow, holiday seasons, waterfronts and watching children play brought a smile to her heart and others. Penny's gift for cooking and baking was a blessing and enjoyed by many.
She was an active member of Akron First Assembly (AFA) for 23 years where she served with joy and excitement in children's ministries, women's ministries, and beautifying the church property. She used her gift of hospitality to bless countless others. Through her love for children and their faith-based growth, Penny also organized and managed the church and school library at AFA for many years. Her sons, Caleb and Jeremiah attended Summit Christian Academy where she also volunteered in the library. Her love for people and service was reflected through her ministry on mission trips with Pastor Dale to the Appalachian region of W. VA and Vienna, Austria.
Penny had a unconditional commitment to her faith and family. Her greatest joy were her sons, Jeremiah and Caleb. Her smiles and chuckles filled the hearts of family and friends. Her tender spirit could be felt without words.
Penny will be forever missed by her husband, Dale, sons, Jeremiah and Caleb, parents, Ron and Joann Beck, siblings, Ron (Peggie) Beck, Pam (Bill) Kirk, Diana (Dennis) Sunde, Scott (Kathleen) Beck, and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. Additionally, the endless number of lives that were touched through her many acts of kindness.
"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praises her: "Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all." Proverbs 31:26-29
