Penny R. Chasteen

Penny R. Chasteen, age 75, of Seymour, passed away at Seymour Crossing on April 7, 2025.
Born on May 15, 1949, in Seymour, Indiana, Penny was the daughter of the late Chester H. and Minnie L. (Day) Shipley.
Penny was a lifelong resident of Seymour. She married Marshall David Chasteen on February 14, 1997, who brought great joy and happiness into her life through his love for her. Penny was strong in her Christian faith and was a member of Hilltop Pentecostal Church in Brownstown for many years, most recently attending services with Pastor Mike Shipley. Penny enjoyed reading, working on the computer, and studying the Bible. Most of all, she found great joy in helping others and loved the time she spent with her grandchildren.
Penny is survived by her children, Kenneth Davis and Anita Easley; sister, Debra Loyo; her grandchildren that she raised, Brandi, Penny Michelle, Brittany Davis and Logan Susdorf; and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
Penny is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, David E. Davis; daughter, Tina R. Davis; sister, Carolyn Sue Edwards; and brothers, John and Donald Shipley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 North Chestnut Street, Seymour, Indiana. Services will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Mike Shipley officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Riverview Cemetery, 1603 Shields Avenue, Seymour.
