Sally D. Chasteen

Sally Chasteen, age 73, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at her residence in Plainfield. Sally's formative years were spent in the bustling city of Indianapolis, where she cultivated a love for learning and a passion for helping others. Her academic pursuits led her to Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor's degree that would serve as the foundation for her professional and personal endeavors. Sally's career began in Indianapolis, where she dedicated years of her life as a legal assistant for multiple attorneys. Her sharp mind and attention to detail made her an invaluable asset to the legal community. In a vibrant chapter of her life, Sally moved to Las Vegas, where she enjoyed the warm weather and the sunshine. She worked as a craps dealer at casinos for over 12 years. Her bright smile and friendliness left a lasting impression on colleagues and patrons alike. A voracious reader, Sally found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. Her intellectual curiosity was further indulged through her love of completing online puzzles, a hobby that not only entertained her but also kept her mind sharp. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Mann, who passed away in 2010. Sally's memory will be cherished and kept alive by her devoted sister, Elizabeth Hardcastle (Franklin), her stepsister, Connie Daughtery (Terry) and stepbrother, John Seneff (Marla), and her adored nephews, Christopher Cirrincione and Alex Hardcastle. Together, they shared innumerable precious moments that will be treasured forever. As we bid farewell to Sally D. Chasteen, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and the simple joys that make a life memorable. Her spirit will continue to guide and comfort us, just as the stories she loved so dearly will endure in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 18 at 11:30AM at Crossroads Church, 7209 E County Rd 100 S, Avon, IN 46123.
