Penny Renee Head (English) age 63 of Ashland, MS, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by family on September 2, 2024. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 5, 1960, Penny was a beloved figure in her community and cherished by many.
Penny attended Southaven High School before pursuing a career as a cosmetic stylist. She later became a dedicated store manager at Freds Inc., from which she retired after many years of commendable service. Penny's spirit was characterized by her strength, love, dedication, and selflessness qualities that made her a pillar in the lives of her family and friends. She touched every life in her unique, loving, giving, and special way. She will forever be missed and never forgotten by all who knew her.
Her interests included music, dancing, and a profound love for nature, often found singing to her birds, which brought joy to all around her. Penny was a remarkable and irreplaceable presence described by those who loved her as a true child of God.
Penny leaves behind her husband, Lawrence Head, Sr.; her children, Jeannie DeBolt, Justin (Jennifer) Bolin, Candace (Lacey) Bolin, Lawrence Jr., Amelia, and Lauralee Head; her sisters, Marsha Clark, Ginger (Anthony) Allison, and Shirley (Keith) Kite; 13 grandchildren, Aubrey, Nicholas, Nathan, Noah, Alexis, Alayna, Nash, Mila, Addyson, Cayden, Cameron, Lane, and Meabeth; 2 great grandchildren, Tristan and Hudson; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Thompson and Howard English; and her grandparents, Esther and Ed Looney.
Visitation will be held form 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, September 7 at New Bethlehem Church with service and burial to follow at 2 p.m. High Point Funeral Home of Memphis, TN is assisting the family with the arrangements.
