Penny Sue Kidd

MUNCIE- Penny Kidd, 60, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 7, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Penny was born August 16, 1961 in Anderson, IN and is the daughter of Walter Henry Smith and Carolyn Sue (Peavler) Welch.
Penny was a loving daughter, wife, granny, great-granny, sister and friend. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren, being outside and traveling to Tennessee for vacation. Penny was a 1982 graduate of Muncie Central High School. She loved volunteering for the chili suppers for the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department. Penny was employed with Newell Brands for 23 years of dedicated service.
Penny is survived by her loving husband of 28 years Billy Ray Kidd; four daughters Amanda Knebel (John), Kristi Sours (Michael), Kylee Howell (Michael) and Megan Kidd (Andrew); her father Walter Henry Smith (Barbara); her mother Carolyn Sue (Peavler) Welch; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two sisters Tammy Sue Cahanin (Ernie) and Cathy Davis (Troy); three brothers Jerry Smith (Kim), Tim Smith (Chris) and Tim Prevost (Jackie); several nieces and nephews also survive.
Penny was preceded in death by a brother Danny Smith; her step-father Neal Welch; her father-in-law Dillard Kidd; a beloved grandbaby; and many of her beloved fur babies.
Funeral Services for Penny will be held Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at The Meeks Mortuary & Crematory, Washington Street Chapel. Interment will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery at a later date.
