Penny passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Kathy Beckom Shirey and the late James Thomas "Tuffy" Shirey. Penny was a Christian with a kind soul and a big heart. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved listening to music.
In addition to her mother, Penny is survived by her son, Ethan Lehotsky; sister, Carissa Shirey Jensen; niece, Ada Jensen; nephew, Tobias Jensen (Aubrey); along with many aunts and uncles.
Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
