Penny Lee Stute
July 21, 1948 – January 14, 2025
Penny Lee Stute was born July 21, 1948 in Bend Oregon to Walter and Pauline Gay.
She was a lifelong resident of the Lebanon/Albany area.
Her marriage to Alan McKinney in June 1967 led to the birth of their 3 children, Todd, Heidi, and Joe.
Penny opened her home to help others as a foster parent to countless young girls.
Penny and Alan later divorced, and in 1993 Penny married Stuart Stute.
Penny met one her most treasured friends, Betty Edwards, while in high school, and they subsequently attended The Albany College of Beauty together. They both worked for many years as hair stylists in Lebanon, with Penny owning The Doll House Beauty Salon.
Later in her life, she returned to college with an interest in nursing. After several years, she earned her master's degree as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
Penny was a mother, sister, aunt, best friend, prayer warrior, and lover of Jesus. She loved life and gave to others what she could.
She often quoted scripture and loved to ponder with others that how in our joy, sorrows, pain and struggles, Jesus loves us. She would marvel that God has a purpose for every place, the mountain top, the valley, the desert, the snow peaks, waterfalls and beaches, and He has a purpose for us too. Wherever we go, and whatever we do, He holds us in the palm of His hand and has a purpose for us.
She liked visiting with friends and family and would often pray for others. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing about Jesus. She would often have gospel music playing in the background. She was a funny, witty co-conspirator in life and all it brought her way.
In her later years Penny found comfort being at home with her beloved poodles. She could be found reading, or out in her back garden tending to her flowers and admiring the birds and bees. She felt that 'her' bee's, were her little friends.
May she be remembered for her beautiful smile, sparkling eyes, red hair, cunning wit, and her love for others.
She was so much more than words can express and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband Stuart Stute, children Todd (Holly) McKinney and children Madison and Max. Heidi (Jake) Blair and children Ethan (Katie), Kelsey, Keely (Chuck), Bethany, Eleazar (Kiani) and Chloe. Joe (Jennifer) McKinney and children Faith and Hope. Her 9 great grandchildren Zoey, Remington, Jasper, Alister, Liam, Keira, Bjorn, and Dian, and 1 great, great grandchild, Ezekiel.
Siblings Walt, Violet, Pauline, Rocky, Roy and Tana.
