Perry Patrick Knight, 64 years old, passed away peacefully at his home, Thursday, February 5, 2026 in Albany, Louisiana after years of battling CHF. He was born on April 25, 1961, in New Roads, Louisiana, to Paul Estes Knight and Beverly D. Lanphere Knight. For a number of years, Perry proudly served with the Hammond Police Department and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs Office. He stood firm in moments of danger, and embodied the true spirit of service to his community.
Beyond the badge, Perry became a State Licensed Master Plumber of Louisiana, who loved to hunt and fish. He was a devoted husband and friend to his wife, Liz. He had a warm laugh that could ease any tension, a gift for listening without judgment, and a heart that always made room for people.
Perry accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and publicly professed his faith by being baptized.
He loved the Lord despite his imperfections and attended church at Victory in Prayer Outreach Ministry, 22516 Hwy 40, Loranger, Louisiana, where he went on his first mission trip. He knew that he was loved by God not because of his perfection, but precisely because of his need for God’s grace, God’s love for him, and by what He did on the cross.
He leaves behind his best friend, his wife, “Liz” Mary Elizabeth Thompson Puma Knight.
