Perry Allen Lampinen, age 65, of Prudenville, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at home.
Perry was born on May 25, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan, to Russell and Lucille (Lund) Lampinen. He graduated from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI, obtaining his bachelor's degree. He attended John Glenn High School in Westland, MI, where he played both hockey and football. Perry retired in 2020 as the Director of Transportation for Sears. He was married on September 18, 1982, in Westland, to Kelly French. The couple moved to Prudenville five years ago from Port Austin. Perry was an avid craftsman and a member of the National Woodworking Association. While at home, he enjoyed woodworking, watching the University of Michigan football games (Go Blue!), hunting, fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. As of late, Perry enjoyed seeing the United States while traveling in his travel trailer with his wife. He succeeded in his lifelong dream of living on acreage in Northern Michigan with his pole barn and tractor alongside his beautiful wife whom he adored with all his heart. Perry fiercely loved his three daughters and was so proud to be a Grandpa.
Perry is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Kelly Lampinen, daughters, Nicole (Tyler) Rogers, Lisa (Scott) Carlson, and Kara (Sean) Skala, grandchildren, Brody, Everly, Maeve, and a baby girl on the way, his mother, Lucille Lampinen, and brother, Michael Lampinen. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Lampinen, and sister-in-law, Dawn Lampinen.
A Celebration of Life for Perry A. Lampinen will be conducted at Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11 am. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the service. I had the joy of working with Perry at Sears Corporate. We had some great times and Perry was always so cheerful. Best wishes to the entire family.

I was Perry´s football coach at Westland John Glenn. He was tough, had a great attitude, and was all about "The Team!" He was loved and respected by all of his teammates and coaches. One of the highest compliments a coach can give is to say that someone was easy to Coach.
