On the 15 of January, 1939, God bless this Earth with an extraordinary baby boy that grew up to be an even more extraordinary man. Perry Roger Goins, left this Earth on January 9, 2025 after 85, almost 86 years of life.
Born to the late Howard Perry Goins (2005) and Thelma Nicatie White Goins (2017) of Bramwell, Roger went on to marry the love of his life, Violet Mitchem Goins (2011) with whom he shared 55 happy years. Roger began a successful career in the business of auto sales working for Iaeger Auto Sales in Bluefield in 1966. Roger went on to operate his own business, "Rogers Auto Mart" from 1978, with his oldest son Dean, co-owner and salesman. Roger and Violet had a total of three children: daughter, Alinda Goins Shaffer of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; sons, Roger Dean Goins and wife Sandy and Perry Dale Goins and wife Cindy of Bramwell.
Roger and Violet had five grandchildren, Rob Lockhart, Misty Lockhart, Brandon Goins, Corey Goins and Chelsea Goins Murphy. They also had eight grandchildren and another one on the way. Roger also had one great-great granddaughter.
Roger was a man of God who loved his Lord family and friends. He had a giving heart and was a great storyteller. His Lord and angels have taken him home to join and reunite with his beloved wife. He will be tremendously missed.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 PM at Deliverance Temple, 1998 Coal Heritage Road (Brushfork), Bluefield, WV with Pastor David Kirby officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell. Butch Kitts, Curtis Jenkins, Dean Miller, Scott Goins, Casey Honaker, Johnny Reynolds, Billy Pantili, and Bill Johnson will serve as pallbearers. Donnie Goins will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Friends may call on Monday from 12 o’clock to 2 o’clock at the church.
