In Loving Memory of Pete "Rabbit" Fabila

1953 - 2025

Pete "Rabbit" Fabila, 72, passed away on June 14, 2025, in Azle, Texas. Born on June 7, 1953, in Fort Worth, Texas, Pete lived a life marked by dedication-to his country, his family, and the values he held dear. A proud Texan and a man of deep conviction, Pete served in the Army National Guard for 25 years, achieving the rank of Specialist (SPC). His long military service reflected his unwavering commitment to duty and discipline. He was known for his strong work ethic and determination-when something needed to be done, Pete made sure it got done right away and done right.

To his friends, he was known simply as "Rabbit," a nickname that stuck with him throughout his life. To those who knew him best, he was a loving father and a man who cherished every moment spent with family. Though not perfect-as he himself might have admitted-his love for his children ran deep and true. Pete found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers, rarely missing a game when he could help it. Each morning began with the familiar sounds of Tejano music and oldies playing in the background-a daily ritual that brought him comfort and connection to his roots.

Family meant everything to Pete. He is survived by his loving wife Melinda, his brothers Louis, Felix, and Roy; sisters Eva, Delores, Frances, Virginia; daughters Christine, Jennifer, Rosalinda, and Angie; sons Pete, Justin, Thomas, Pete jr ,Adrian; and many others who were touched by his presence. He was preceded in death by his father Tomas and mother Ramona; brothers Arthur, Gilbert, Tommy, Benny, Danny, Mart, Bill; and sons Angel and Jesse.

Pete will have a public visitation, Wednesday, June 25 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Roberts-Martinez Funeral Home at 4200 Denton Highway, Haltom City, Texas 76117. Pete will also be having a committal service the next day on Thursday, June 26th @ 11:15 AM at the Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery, located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

. Pete's Christian faith guided him throughout life's challenges and triumphs. His strength of spirit and resilience left an indelible mark on those around him. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life lived with purpose and heart.

June 24, 2025

Prayers to your family and friends. We have enjoyed being able to call you our friend. I will remember the times I have taken you to run your errands and set and talked to you and the many Walmart runs you went on and made sure the boys and my son went with us. We will miss you Pete. Love Cyndi and Philip.
