Obituary published on Legacy.com by David W. Barnes Funeral Home on Sep. 4, 2024.
Logan Dale "Pete" Hodges, 80 of Coffeyville passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at his home. A proud resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, Pete was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He will be fondly remembered for his passion for his family, his dedication to his work, and his love for his country.
He was born on July 19, 1944, in Wichita, Kansas to Logan Ferrell and Elsie Mae (Brooks) Hodges. Pete grew up and attended school in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College.
Pete was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force from February 1965 until receiving his honorable discharge in October 1968.
In July 1973, he married Victoria "Vicky" Travis in Denver, CO. They had one daughter, Natalie, they were later divorced.
Pete worked for many years at Farmland Refinery (now Coffeyville Resources) as a Coker Unit Operator until retiring.
Pete was an ardent sports enthusiast, with a particular fondness for golfing and horse racing. He was a loyal fan of the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs, following their triumphs and trials with unwavering commitment. Alongside his love for sports, Pete served his community through his membership in the American Legion Post #20, serving as a former Post Commander, and the V.F.W. Post #1022. His service to his community was a testament to his belief in the power of unity, contributing to a better world for his beloved daughter Natalie, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.
Pete's legacy of love and dedication will be treasured by his survivors: his daughter Natalie Adamson, his grandchildren Dax (Abagail) Adamson, Logan Adamson, Max Adamson, Elizabeth Adamson, his great-grandchildren Gatlin Adamson, Baker Adamson, his brother Phillip Fast, and his nephew Stephen (Rita) Harris. He is preceded in death by his parents Logan and Elsie Hodges, his sister and brother-in-law Frances and Steve Harris, his niece Leah Harris, and his ex-wife Victoria Hodges.
