Pete Mammolenti Jr., 90, of Bremen, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of April 30, 2025, surrounded by his children. He was born on July 28, 1934, in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Pete was the fourth-oldest child born to his Italian immigrant parents, Pietro and Theresa Maria (Martino) Mammolenti, who came from Calabria, Italy.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He spent his career as a pop truck driver, known as "Pete the 7 Up man." In retirement, he drove a school bus for Penn High School.
Pete met his wife, Patricia, when she was 17, and they married two years later. They raised a family and shared many happy years together.
He is survived by his children: Mike (Cathy) Mammolenti, Joe Mammolenti, and Lori (Vinnie) Spiteri; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and his brothers: Milio, Jim (Shirley), and Joe (Carol). He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; his son, Rick; a great-granddaughter, Nora; and siblings Rose, Marian, Bob, Roy, and Sam.
Pete was known for enjoying his cigar in his yard and his frequent reminder to "wash your hands" upon entering the house or before meals. He cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his favorite phrase was "Who likes PawPaw?", to which they would enthusiastically reply, "I do!"
He was a member of the Diloreto Club and the Italian American Heritage Society, and he looked forward to the annual family and friends' picnic.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W 8th Street, Mishawaka, IN. Funeral services will commence at 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
